For over 30 years I have been teaching oboe to young and old at every level. I studied oboe at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Jan Spronk and Pauline Oostenrijk.
I teach at the Muziekplein- Ede in Cultura on Molenstraat 45 in Ede.
The oboe is a wooden wind instrument with silver keys and is blown by a double reed. It is an instrument with a very beautiful, clear sound. This makes it one of the most important instruments in an orchestra. Its enchanting sound has inspired many composers.
Playing together is one of the most fun things about making music. An oboe is very suitable for that. The oboe is not only used in classical music, but also in pop music, jazz, in many different orchestras you come across the oboe. That is because the oboe fits in everywhere with its special sound.
It is important that your fingers can reach all the keys, which is why you can learn to play the oboe from the age of 7 or 8.
Of course, daily practice is part of learning to play an instrument. Depending on age and level, this is about 20 to 40 minutes per day. It works well if you do this at a fixed time of day. Parents can be a great help with this.
You can buy an instrument, rent it or you can sign a hire purchase contract. In the beginning, renting/hire purchase is the best option. For more information you can contact me.
The lessons are given on Wednesday afternoon. It is always possible to come to Ede for a trial lesson without obligation.
